Server Returns "HTTP 404 - File Not Found"

TOPIC
When opening the Web service's HTML description
or pages, or invoking a method with a web browser,
an "HTTP 404 - File not found" message appears.

DISCUSSION
This error condition can often be solved by
addressing the following:
- Verify that ASP.NET Application
Server component is installed and
enabled. In IIS 6 Manager, expand the
local computer, then click Web Service
Extensions, then in the details pane
verify that the status for ASP.NET is
Allowed.
- Open the
properties of the Web service virtual directory
in Internet Information Services (IIS) and make
sure that the Execute Permissions for the directory
are set to allow scripts to be run (i.e. "Scripts
only" or "Scripts and Executables").
